Foundation's Edge (Foundation Cycle)

The boundaries of the Foundation, the sixth book in the "Foundation Cycle," is the continuation of the "Foundation Trilogy" or "Trantor Cycle," Isaac Asimov's science fiction masterpiece. Golan Trevize, a counselor of the First Foundation, wonders about the possibility of the survival of the Second Foundation. According to the official version, the Second Foundation should have been destroyed, thus extinguishing the mental superpowers of the scientists who composed it and who secretly directed the events of the Galactic Empire.

After a series of political intrigues, Trevize is forced to go into exile on a spaceship, accompanied by the historian Janov Pelorat. However, once in space, they both decide to dedicate themselves to the search for the ancient planet Earth. In the fourth novel of Isaac Asimov's classic science fiction series, the Foundation series, the costly and bitter war between the two Foundations has finally ended. The scientists of the First Foundation have emerged victorious and are now turning to Hari Seldon's long-standing plan to establish a new Empire on the remains of the old.

However, rumors persist that the Second Foundation has not been destroyed and that its defiant survivors are preparing for revenge. Two exiled citizens of the Foundation, a rebel councilman, and an elderly historian, embark on a quest to find the mythical planet Earth and evidence of the Second Foundation's continued existence. Meanwhile, something or someone outside of both Foundations seems to be manipulating events for its own ominous purposes.

Representatives from both the First and Second Foundations soon find themselves racing towards a mysterious world known as Gaia, facing a final, shocking destiny at the edge of the universe.
